The Cardinal Courier is the student-operated newspaper of St. John Fisher College.
During the Fall of 2001, volunteer participation was not sufficient to continue to produce "The Pioneer" an independent, student-run paper, which had been published since 1951.
After studying the problem, the Communication/Journalism Department decided to create
a Newspaper Practicum course so students could receive academic credit for their work.
The renamed "Cardinal Courier" was first published in the Spring of 2002.
Lavery Library microfilms each volume when it is complete, and they are available in the
Reference area. The Library also maintains an archive of the paper copies of past issues of "The Cardinal Courier."
