ELIGIBLE BORROWERS


Fisher students, faculty, and staff, as well as Fisher alumni, Nazareth College students, Empire State College students, RRLC Access Card holders, and the immediate families of Fisher faculty and staff are eligible to borrow materials.

ID CARDS


A valid ID card must be presented when checking out Reserve or Circulating materials.

LOAN PERIODS

CIRCULATING BOOKS AND AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS

Fisher Student:		Unlimited book titles, maximum of 3 AV titles;	
			Books, 28 days with 1 renewal, no overdue fines assessed; 
			Curriculum textbooks, 7 days with 1 renewal, overdue fines apply; 
			AV, 7 days with 1 renewal, overdue fines apply; 
			Replacement charges and processing fees apply

Fisher Faculty:		Unlimited titles;	
			Books, academic year - spring due date, with 1 renewal, no overdue fines assessed; 
			AV, 7 days with 1 renewal, no overdue fines assessed;
			Replacement charges and processing fees apply

Fisher Employee:		Unlimited book titles, maximum of 3 AV titles;	
			Books, 28 days with 1 renewal, no overdue fines assessed;
			AV, 7 days with 1 renewal, no overdue fines assessed;
			Replacement charges and processing fees apply

Fisher Alumni:		Limit of 10 titles, maximum of 3 AV titles;	
			Books, 21 days with 1 renewal, overdue fines apply;
			AV, 7 days with 1 renewal, overdue fines apply;

Nazareth Student: 	Limit of 10 titles, AV does not circulate to these patrons;     	
			Books, 21 days with 2 renewals, overdue fines apply

Empire State Student/	Limit of 5 titles, AV does not circulate to these patrons;
ACCESS Card Holder:	Books, 21 days with 1 renewal, overdue fines apply
			
RESERVE ITEMS circulate based on limits determined by faculty member or librarian when it is placed on Reserve, such as in-house use only, or overnight checkout. Overdue fines apply.
REFERENCE BOOKS, MAGAZINES, JOURNALS, AND NEWSPAPERS are for in-house use only.
ARCHIVES AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS are for in-house use only, by appointment with the Library Director's Office.

FINES & CHARGES

Those patrons who are not charged overdue fines are billed for a replacement charge of $45.00 and a processing fee of $25.00 for items not returned. These charges are billed four (4) weeks after an item is overdue. For books returned after charges and fees are billed, only the replacement charge is waived; the processing fee will still be due.

Patrons who are assessed overdue fines will be charged:

  • Overdue Books are fined at $ .25 per day, maximum per item fine is $7.50.
  • Overdue AV Items are fined at $1.00 per day, maximum per item fine is $10.00.
  • Reserve Items are generally fined at $ .50 per hour, maximum per item fine is $4.00, though charges may vary.
  • All items not returned will be billed as a $45.00 replacement cost and a processing fee of $25.00.
  • Appealing a fine: Circulation Supervisors may forgive or cancel library fines at their discretion. Appeals should be addressed to supervisors as needed. Appeals will be reviewed and the borrower notified of the decision.
  • REFUNDS


    If an item is returned after payment has been made, the replacement charge will be refunded. All processing fees/fines are non-refundable.

    DAMAGED MATERIALS


    Materials that are damaged while on loan are subject to replacement or repair fees.

    HOLDS


    Patrons may ask the Circulation Department to hold a book that is presently checked out. Patrons will be called when the book is available. It will be held for three days. Holds may not be placed on titles that are shown as "Available" in the library catalog.

    RIGHT TO PRIVACY


    The Lavery Library enforces New York State law maintaining the confidentiality of circulation records and non-disclosure of a borrower's name without consent of the borrower.
