    Lavery Library Library Facilities

Lavery Library is a three-floor brick structure of 57,000 square feet, providing seating for individuals and groups. Students find it a comfortable and productive place to study and conduct research. Specialized facilities are described below.

** MEETING AND INSTRUCTION ROOMS
Several rooms are available within the library for meetings and instructional programs. These rooms include the Hands-On Computer Lab, L-100, equipped with 25 PCs, a multimedia Instructor Console and a ceiling-mounted projector; the Skalny Room (L-315) and L-305, which offer HDTV and DVD/VHS viewing equipment and network ports; and the Genesee Country Room with TV/VHS equipment, network port, and conference phone. Call Reservations at 385-5200 or email reservations@sjfc.edu to check the availability of these rooms.

**QUIET STUDY FLOOR
The entire Upper Level of the library has been designated a "Quiet Floor." This policy will be enforced as necessary. Student groups wishing to study together should get a Group Study Room (see below). Cell phone calls should be taken into the stairwell or restroom so as not to disturb people studying at nearby tables and carrels in the open areas. Persons attending meetings or classes on this floor are asked to moderate their voices inside the rooms, and enter and exit quietly.

Individual study rooms are located on the upper level, and are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Some contain computer ports for access to the campus network. A limited number of these individual studies are available for faculty engaged in library research for the period of one semester. Faculty may apply for these through the Director's Office.
