Library Student Employment:
The library employs approximately 30 work study students during the school year and 3-5 students during the summer. Students who have been awarded work study assistance in their financial aid package may pick up an application for work at the library at the Circulation desk at any time for work during the year. It is not necessary to have a work study award to work during the summer, although students with experience at the Lavery Library are preferred.
The majority of hiring for the library is done at the beginning of each fall semester, however, some students may be hired throughout the year as positions come vacant or as more student aides are needed.
Jobs in the library include work at the Circulation Desk, working with Interlibrary Loan, Computer Aide, and Audio/visual Department Aide. Most students in the library work at Circulation. The average student work week will be 6-8 hours. Specific schedules are arranged with individual area supervisors.
Inquire at the Circulation Desk in person or call at 385-8165 if you have any further questions!
