During the Fall of 2001, volunteer participation was not sufficient to produce a quality newspaper. After studying the problem, the Communication/Journalism Department decided to create a Newspaper Practicum course so students could receive academic credit for their work. The renamed Cardinal Courier was first published in the Spring of 2002.

Lavery Library maintains a collection of past issues of the Pioneer in both hard copy and microfilm; the microfilm is available for use in our Reference department.
